Amoy is not just a Loctician; she's an advocate for girls and women, serving on the Board of Directors for Global Girls Worldwide Women, an organization dedicated to universal advocacy for females. Her commitment to excellence was recognized in 2018 when she became a member of Delta Mu Delta, the International Business Honor Society.

Founded in March 2021 by Amoy Virgo, The Loc Artistry by AV is your haven for expert loc care with a health-focused approach. Amoy's journey from a seasoned Registered Nurse of nearly two decades to a professional Loctician was a seamless transition driven by her innate creativity and passion for beauty. Growing up in Jamaica, she had the privilege of witnessing her mother, a respected cosmetologist and business owner, weave beauty through her work. Amoy's own creative flair and skillset began to shine during her teenage years. She spent her after-school hours and free time braiding hair for clients, foreshadowing her destined role in helping individuals reinvent and nurture themselves. In early 2021, Amoy embarked on her professional journey as a Loctician, specializing in the installation of permanent loc extensions and instant locs. Committed to honing her craft, she later achieved certification as a Microloc Consultant. A People-Centered, Health-Focused Loc Salon Today, The Loc Artistry by AV stands as a full-service Loc Salon with a strong emphasis on health. We pride ourselves on delivering a meticulously tailored and unique haircare experience. Our service menu is continually evolving, and we offer a premium line of all-natural hair and skincare products.

When Amoy takes a break from her roles as a nurse, mom, and Loctician, she indulges in her passions. She finds solace in reading, embraces the adventure of hiking, expresses herself through poetry, and energizes her spirit with running.

At The Loc Artistry by AV, our philosophy centers on care and philanthropy. We actively collaborate with organizations and have established special partnerships with Mission Food Possible (M:FP), an organization dedicated to combatting food insecurity and Global Girls Worldwide Women (GGWW), universal advocates for girls and women. A portion of proceeds, 7% to be exact, from product sales is committed to helping M:FP and GGWW fulfill their mission.
