At Sankofa Runs, our goal is to create a welcoming community for runners of all levels. Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or training for your next big race, this is a space to connect, run together, and support one another. Here's everything you need to know:

How We Meet
Virtual Meetups:

Dates/times will be chosen to accommodate as many members as possible.
In-Person Meetups (Coming Soon!):
We’re working toward hosting in-person group runs and race meetups. Stay tuned!
Meet the Facilitators
Love & Amoy are lifelong friends who’ve been running together for years. From 5Ks to full marathons, they’ve trained, motivated each other, and celebrated countless race completions. They’re passionate about the physical and mental health benefits of running and are excited to share that joy with others.

We’re also looking for additional facilitators to help lead runs. Let us know if you’re interested!

Local Races:
Explore races in the Hudson Valley through the Mid Hudson Road Runners Club.
Proper Running Shoes:
Invest in quality running shoes to prevent injury, reduce pain, and enhance performance.
Shoes typically last 300–500 miles. Book a FIT appointment at a running store like Fleet Feet (Poughkeepsie, NY) for expert guidance.

Stretching & Warmups:
Pre-run warmups and post-run stretches are essential for preventing injury and improving recovery. Youtube has great videos.
