Founder Amoy Virgo, MSOL, BSN, RN, has over 20 years of experience in healthcare. During her own loc journey, she was diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis, a condition that causes scalp inflammation, irritation, and flaking.
Many traditional hair products offered temporary relief but often contained ingredients that were too harsh or irritating for sensitive scalps.
Amoy began searching for a natural approach to managing scalp inflammation while maintaining healthy locs.
Creating Hydration Juice
Through research and experimentation, Amoy developed a hydrating formula designed to soothe the scalp while nourishing the hair.
This formula became Hydration Juice.
Hydration Juice helped reduce irritation while providing lightweight hydration to the hair and scalp without heavy buildup.
After seeing the results in her own hair and scalp, Amoy began sharing the product with clients.
From Personal Solution to Product Line
Clients who tried Hydration Juice began reporting positive results, including improved scalp comfort and increased hydration for their locs.
Encouraged by this feedback, Amoy began offering the product more widely.
This marked the beginning of Products by AV, a curated line of natural hair and scalp care products designed to support healthy locs and scalp wellness.
